An ancient cellar full of history and fantasy

The Fire Horse and Dragon exhibition, which will attract the youngest visitors and their parents, is located in an ancient cellar in the centre of the town. It was built by the royal mintmasters under their court not long after the foundation of Brno in the 13th century. It is therefore the ideal place for a narration about the history of Brno, which will be taken up by Marie Ludvíková and Cyril Drozda, among others, and accompanied by numerous illustrations and animations. The mysterious vaulted corridors will also present famous and lesser-known urban legends and legends in illustrations by Veronika Vlková. You will see Brno's dragon, the wheelwright Jiří Pirk, you will learn how it was with the crooked phial at Brno Town Hall and at the same time you will find out what old Brno had in common with the present one. And at the very bottom of this underground space, you will experience the siege of Brno by the Swedes for yourself.

Do you want to explore another Brno underground with your children? Take a walk through the centre to Labyrinth under the Vegetable Market.

Even more of the Brno underground

The more of Brno's underground you visit in two days, the more you save! Come and see the Water Reservoirs, the Labyrinth, the Ossuary, and the Cellar. You'll always get discounted admission at the ticket office.

Brno legends

Sit back and let them tell you the most interesting stories, without which Brno would not be Brno. The Brno dragon, the bicycle at the Old Town Hall, the bent spire on the portal of the Old Town Hall, the rude little man at St. James Church and many more.
