I'm just hanging out here now and people make fun of me, but it certainly hasn't been that way yet.
I flew in from somewhere in the east and I liked Brno so much that I landed here. Between Lišní and Slatina I made a dwelling, a kind of nest, and ate everything I saw. The best was the food that came from the surrounding area to the Brno markets. For example, I ate babkas from Tuřany with cabbage, I washed down the winemakers from Mikulov with Veltliner and frankfurter, and I had the medlars from Břeclav with sweet. For dessert, of course. I didn't disdain the sheep and goats that grazed all around. That was life.
But I was a complete lapdog for the Brno people. They were shaking with terror, just hearing me screaming after lunch. One day a young butcher's journeyman came to town and figured out how Brno would get rid of me. He begged a cowhide from the town council, stuffed it with lime and sewed it up. And I, the stupid dragon, ate the thing. It was so disgusting that I got a crooked mouth and had to wash it down with some water.
I flew to the Svratka River and there I chugged the river water as much as I could fit in me. Nothing flowed in the river for a day. And then it started bubbling, whistling, banging, hissing, it was quiet for a while, I thought, ugh, it's from my throat. But finally there was something like a heéérangr and I broke into a hundred and seventy-four pieces. And they weren't all found. It took an awful long time to get me all put back together and hung up in the town hall passage.
So now I'm just hanging out here and people are making fun of me. Oh, yeah.
