Franciszka\u0144ski klasztor \u015bw. Bernarda zosta\u0142 za\u0142o\u017cony w 1451 r. podczas drugiego pobytu w Brnie przez w\u0142oskiego franciszkanina i gorliwego kaznodziej\u0119 Jana Capistrano. Miejsce na klasztor zosta\u0142o zakupione przed murami miejskimi na po\u0142udniu poni\u017cej Puhl\u00edka przy wale m\u0142y\u0144skim. Podczas pierwszego szwedzkiego obl\u0119\u017cenia w 1643 r. dow\u00f3dca Brna, pu\u0142kownik Sch\u00f6nkirch, ze wzgl\u0119d\u00f3w strategicznych kaza\u0142 podpali\u0107 klasztor franciszkan\u00f3w, kt\u00f3ry sp\u0142on\u0105\u0142 wraz z ko\u015bcio\u0142em \u015bw. Franciszkanie przenie\u015bli si\u0119 do miasta, a w ramach rekompensaty za zniszczone mienie otrzymali od rady miejskiej ko\u015bci\u00f3\u0142 \u015bw. Marii Magdaleny i cztery gotyckie domy, na miejscu kt\u00f3rych w 1654 r. uko\u0144czono budow\u0119 klasztoru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pod wschodnim skrzyd\u0142em klasztoru i cz\u0119\u015bciowo pod dwupi\u0119trowym budynkiem ulicy, a tak\u017ce pod placem, znajduj\u0105 si\u0119 rozleg\u0142e pomieszczenia piwniczne o kilku poziomach i skomplikowanym uk\u0142adzie. Z dawnej roma\u0144skiej budowli zachowa\u0142y si\u0119 jedynie fragmenty mur\u00f3w z kamienia \u0142amanego. W g\u00f3rnej cz\u0119\u015bci, prawdopodobnie podczas budowy klasztoru, usuni\u0119to r\u00f3wnie\u017c gotyckie mury i zast\u0105piono je barokowymi \u015bcianami ze sklepieniami. Do dzi\u015b nie uda\u0142o si\u0119 w pe\u0142ni zbada\u0107 historycznych podziemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wrze\u015bniu 1982 r. p\u0119k\u0142o sklepienie w korytarzach \u0142\u0105cz\u0105cych pod placem. Podczas wywozu \u015bmieci chodnik nad zawalonym sklepieniem dw\u00f3ch kondygnacji podziemnych korytarzy zapad\u0142 si\u0119 pod ci\u0119\u017car\u00f3wk\u0105. Obecnie podziemia i ca\u0142y budynek s\u0105 w bardzo z\u0142ym stanie i tylko terminowa naprawa i odpowiednie u\u017cytkowanie doprowadz\u0105 do uratowania tych bardzo atrakcyjnych historycznych miejsc niegdy\u015b tak popularnego i romantycznego Placu Rzymskiego.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
