I never thought Brno would be my home. But I ended up loving it here as much as anywhere else.<\/p>\n
I am the Czech Queen Eli\u0161ka Rej\u010dka, widow of the famous King Wenceslaus II and the somewhat infamous King Rudolf. When both of them died, I began to live with the powerful lord Henry of Lip\u00e1, whom King John of Luxembourg entrusted with the administration of Moravia. We lived at \u0160pilberk and we loved each other as no one in the world could. I longed for something to remain of me in my beloved Brno.<\/p>\n
So I decided to build a church with a monastery and two other churches where people would pray for me and Henry and for our love. I thought for a long time about where they should grow, but in the end I left it to chance. The ladies of the court and I sewed three silk scarves, and on an autumn day we climbed Spilber's Hungry Tower.<\/p>\n
The first scarf, which I dropped into the wind, began to descend just below the castle slope to Old Brno. It landed in the place where the monastery stands today, in whose church I rest alongside my dear Henry.<\/p>\n
The second scarf twisted in the wind and floated high above our heads. The wind blew it somewhere towards Veve\u0159\u00ed Castle, but it was never seen again.<\/p>\n
The last scarf was carried by a gust to the village of Kom\u00edn, where I built a church.<\/p>\n
